UK Youth Movement Terms and Conditions

Description of Terms

Changemakers are people and organisations at the heart of the movement who sign up to stand with UK Youth and young people in this campaign. They can join the movement for free. UK Youth will provide free support, training and networking opportunities to empower them to achieve our collective aims.

Innovators are people and organisations who want to go further and collaborate with UK Youth on developing and growing the movement, as well as providing leadership and support to Changemakers in their local area or nationally.

UK Youth Values

In becoming part of the UK Youth Movement, your organisation agrees to share our vision, mission and values:

At UK Youth it’s our vision to empower all young people to build bright futures, whatever their background or circumstances. Our mission to provide all young people with access to appropriate, high quality services in their local community or online. Underpinning everything we do are our core values:

1.    We work with young people on their terms

2.    We advocate on behalf of young people

3.    We are committed to working in partnership

By joining the UK Youth Movement, organisations will;

•     Agree to the Terms and Conditions and UK Youth Values outlined in this document.

•     Agree to provide relevant information about your organisation and commit to keeping these updated.

•     Provide UK Youth with details of affiliated organisations (applicable to organisations that support other youth clubs or organisations through a partnership or membership). This is done by completing the affiliate list form on the online hub under ‘Organisation’.

•     By providing details of affiliated organisations, you agree that UK Youth can map them on our online directory and map. This helps us to ensure that our movement remains transparent, enables us to refer corporates, funders and policy makers to the right areas. It also enables us to monitor the types of services available to young people across the country and to identify gaps in provision which we can prioritise with policy makers.

•     As part of your subscription to the UK Youth Movement UK Youth will keep your organisation regularly updated by newsletter and email on events and opportunities that may be of benefit to individuals and or your organisation.

•     Be able to access free support, training and networking opportunities and receive our latest news and opportunities.

•     UK Youth reserves the right at all times and at its absolute discretion to accept or reject applications to the UK Youth Movement as it sees fit.

•     UK Youth reserves the right to remove organisations or to prevent any organisation from participating in any event or opportunity if they put the organisation into disrepute or if they are in material breach of these terms and conditions.

•     If you’re a Changemaker and you wish to terminate your subscription, for whatever reason, you must inform UK Youth as soon as possible.

For organisations who choose to become a UK Youth Innovator, you will;

•     Pay a fee, currently £500 per year, payable online or through requesting an invoice. Fees are reviewed annually and changes will be notified to organisations in writing prior to renewal.

•     If you’re an Innovator and you wish to terminate your subscription, for whatever reason, you must inform UK Youth as soon as possible. Please notes refunds are not feasible.

UK Youth expects that organisations will put young people first, and that their safety and well being is paramount in all actions across the organisation. Where an organisation works directly with young people, UK Youth expects them to provide a safe space that meets minimum standards;

•     Adhere to current Child Protection legislation including carrying out Disclosure and Barring Service checks for all staff working directly with children and young people or vulnerable adults.

•     Have a designated safeguarding officer in their organisation.

•     Maintain up to date safeguarding and child protections policies and procedures that are reviewed annually.

•     Ensure all staff and volunteers are trained in safeguarding on a regular basis.

If your organisation does not currently meet these requirements, please contact the engagement team who will be able to provide further support.
